How Cash@Till works

Cash@Till allows you to use your FNB debit card to withdraw cash with your purchase on an enabled FNB point of sale/speedpoint at selected merchants.

Withdrawing cash is easy

  1. Take your purchase item to the till (for example: purchase item valued at N$10.00)
  2. Ask for any amount of cash from the till (for example: N$100.00 cash)
  3. Cashier will then swipe your card for N$110.00
  4. You will receive N$100.00 after the cashier has deducted the purchase item valued at N$10.00
  5. Walk away with your item and the cash.

Cash@Till is a card transaction, so you will need to swipe your FNB debit card and enter your PIN to pay for your purchase and draw cash.

How eWallet@Till works

Currently, eWallet recipients can perform the following cash-out functions:

  • Cash withdrawal at ATMs
  • Prepaid purchases on USSD, ATMs and on the FNB App.

You can now visit any participating retailer and withdraw or purchase, or do both from your eWallet balance.

Withdraw using eWallet@Till

  • Purchase and cash out using eWallet@Till - purchase items and withdraw funds at the same time
  • Purchase only - buy using the available funds in your eWallet
  • Cash out only - eWallet recipients can withdraw cash at retailers from their eWallet

What you need to know

  • To receive money via eWallet you need a valid cellphone number
  • Dial *140*392# to request an OTP (One Time PIN)
  • The 5-digit OTP received via SMS is only valid for 16 hours, irrespective of time of day received
  • The OTP is only valid for a single transaction, however, with eWallet@Till, you can purchase and withdraw using the same OTP, provided the transaction is taking place simultaneously

What is CashPlus?

  • CashPlus allows FNB customers and non-FNB customers to withdraw or deposit cash on FNB accounts at a CashPlus merchant using an OTP.
  • The transactions offered on CashPlus are: cash withdrawal, eWallet and cash deposit.
  • For cardless cash and eWallet withdrawals you will need to perform the transaction on the FNB App or Cellphone Banking to receive an OTP. You can then give this OTP to the cashier for assistance.
  • For cash deposits the OTP will be send via Cellphone Banking only. Should the cashier capture the transaction details on their CashPlus phone, the OTP will be forwarded to your phone. You will then need to read this OTP back to the cashier to complete the transaction.
  • Both merchant and customer need to use secure FNB Cellphone Banking or the FNB App to perform CashPlus transactions.
  • For Cellphone Banking standard airtime rates apply, but the FNB App is free for both merchant and customer.

How CashPlus works

Withdraw cash from an FNB account at an CashPlus enabled store

  • Request OTP using Cellphone Banking or the FNB App
  • Give the OTP to the cashier
  • Cashier will process the transaction and hand you the money

  • Request OTP using Cellphone Banking or the FNB App
  • Give the OTP to the cashier
  • Cashier will process the transaction and hand you the money

Deposit cash on an FNB account at the CashPlus enabled store

  • Deposit method one:
    • Request for a deposit OTP on FNB Cellphone Banking
    • Give the money you wish to deposit and the OTP to the cashier
    • Cashier processes the transaction
    • Deposited amount will reflect on your account immediately
  • Deposit method two:
    • Give the money you wish to deposit to the cashier
    • Cashier processes the transaction
    • You will receive details with OTP, to confirm transaction
    • Give cashier the OTP to finalise the transaction
    • Deposited amount will reflect on your account immediately

CashPlus is a convenient way for both FNB & non-FNB customers to deposit and withdraw cash at an FNB CashPlus agent. All you need is a cellphone.

To use CashPlus, you need to be registered for Cellphone Banking or have the FNB App downloaded on to your device.

With CashPlus, you can also withdraw money from eWallet or buy prepaid airtime and electricity.
